Thankfulness

Hi all, cold miserable day in the coastal household, the weather is vile and we have a setback in the form of an estate agent not being well enough to visit to tell us about the new house, bless her, fingers crossed she gets better soon.

3 days to go until Christmas, and this year i am feeling very mellow about the whole experience. As we don't have much spare money this year, due to saving for the new house, me and the hubs have only had 3 people to buy for. That's all. We aren't buying for each other until we move and get settled and can start saving again. But that's okay. Because we have each other, we have a warm (ish) house, we have food and we have a roof over our heads. That;s all we need right now.

I am feeling pretty thankful for my uncle John, without whom we wouldn't have a turkey. If it wasn't for him we were just going to have a small chicken, but he insists on tradition bless his soul.
I am feeling thankful that John took the time today to deliver a brown paper bag. Full to the brim with parsnips, Brussels sprouts and cabbage. Just that bag.
What a sweetheart.

On friday he also brought me this, to sit under my tree, a Z gauge replica of The Mallard, as he knows i love steam trains. The picture makes it look bigger, but it truly is minuscule! :) It makes me happy :)

Christmas and houses

Hi guys,
It's been a wee while since i wrote on here, everything has been manic in the run up to Christmas, getting last bits and pieces etc but all is finished now, and all is well.

Last time i mentioned that we had found a house in Easington, well, By the time we managed to arrange a viewing it had already been let! Booo! :(
I am quite sad, but, alas, it was not meant to be,so the search goes on, and this time we have found a house in a picturesque town/village near Durham, so fingers crossed for this one as i really love it,  it is surrounded by the Dales and has marvelous views.
I'm trying not to get too exited, but i can't help it!

All That Shivers Is Cold

Hi guys, well winter has well and truly set in, i know this as i am currently writing this wearing pajamas, a dressing gown, gloves, a hot water bottle, a double duvet and a hat! It really is freezing!
brrrrrr.

Life has been  going nicely these past few weeks (apart from the cold) i bought some lovely new paints to play with and am working on lots of small canvas' to build up a stock.

Some of you know that we are house hunting and the good news is that we (Me and The Hubs) have finally found a lovely house in our price range in Easington in the North East. Yay! We are off to view it at some point this week so fingers crossed eh?
And the best part is the seaside is quite literally only 5 minutes down the street! Woohoo.
The dream is growing ever so much closer!

Things That Inspire Me

A few months ago me and my hubby went off on a day trip to Seahouses and Holy Island in the North East and i absolutely loved every minute of it!!

I swear i never ever wanted to leave!

It was a truly magical place, bustling with life and interspersed with the smell of the sea and fried doughnuts!mmm! (We scoffed a full bag)

And  one of the harbour walls (where the food was, incidentally) was this little chap, he is clearly well fed and i managed to get this close to take a few (hundred) pictures. such a little poser.

 Another confession here, i LOVE boats, i'm not sure why, but i love them and would quite happily live on one for the rest of days.
